Information we collect

The volunteer application asks for your contact details and when you are free. It may also ask why you want to volunteer. Emails you send us include whatever information you put in them.

Do not submit resident names, health information, financial details, passwords, or anyone else's private information through the application or by email.

How we use it

We use application information to respond to you, discuss eligibility and scheduling, prepare orientation, and find a suitable volunteer placement. We use contact messages to answer your question or route your request.

We do not sell personal information or add advertising trackers to this website. Applying does not give us permission to publish your story, image, or identity.

Processing and sharing

Applications are collected through Google Forms and stored in a Google account managed by Senior Voices. We may share your information with the Senior Voices team members who coordinate volunteers and, when needed to arrange a match, with a staff contact at a participating community. We share only what is needed for coordination and safety.

Any story or photo needs its own permission. Taking part in regular visits never requires publicity.

Visit notes

After each visit, volunteers write a short note about what the resident chose to share, such as the people they mentioned or a story to continue. Notes help the next visit stay personal.

Notes do not include health, financial, or legal information, or anything a resident asks to keep private. They are shared only with the coordinator and the volunteers who visit that resident, and are never published. Residents may ask what has been recorded about them or ask that notes stop. Read the visit notes guide.

Your choices

You may ask what application information we hold about you, request a correction, or request deletion when it is no longer needed for coordination or records. Email contact@senior-voices.org with “Privacy request” in the subject line.

When this notice changes, the date above changes too. For questions about safe participation, see Safety and participation.
